Pezu Smith Consulting is recruiting an Early years Coordinator for a client in Ibadna, a British Early years and Primary School.
As our Early Years Coordinator, you will be required to work with children and other Early
Years Educators in the team.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Must be resident in Ibadan and be able to easily commute to Jericho, Ibadan
The minimum qualification required is (B.Ed./PGDE) in English/Early Childhood Education
gained from a reputable university, plus a diploma or certificate in Montessori Education
Must have TRCN certification.
Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience and understanding of the British Curriculum
gained from working in a similar role.
Be able to carry out the duties of a Class Teacher with a clear understanding of appropriate
teaching strategies
Be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of systematic synthetic phonics
The use of a Cursive Handwriting scheme is an added advantage.
Creative skills such as music, dance, drama, art and crafts are necessary.
Must have excellent English Language skills (clear written, reading and spoken)
Must have effective classroom management and teaching skills as well as evidence of such.
Be enthusiastic innovative, creative and dynamic in delivering lesson plans that meet the
needs of all children
You will be expected to demonstrate consistently high standards of personal and
professional conduct
Professionally presented, self-confident and smartly dressed.
Excellent IT skills – including use of the internet, e-mail, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
RESPONSIBILITIES
To carry out the duties of a Class Teacher
To establish good relationships, encourage good working practices and support,
challenge and lead teachers and support staff within the EYFS team
To provide regular communication with parents about what is happening across the
Early Years setting
To provide for the pastoral, educational, social, moral, spiritual and cultural.
development of the children across the EYFS and be committed to a fully inclusive
school
To be responsible and accountable for securing the highest standards of pupil
achievement across the EYFS through a process of effective monitoring, evaluation,
reporting and review of learning, progress and teaching outcomes
To address any areas of underachievement and inconsistencies within the EYFS.
To use relevant assessment information to set targets for improvement across the EYFS
To enthuse, lead, develop and enhance the teaching practices of others across the
EYFS, through mentoring, coaching, evaluating, supporting, guiding and target setting.
To be accountable for the strategic leadership and management of the EYFS, within
the context of the school’s aims and policies
To contribute to and actively support the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
To comply with, support and promote all school policies and procedures, particularly
those relating to child protection, equal opportunities, racial equality, health, safety
and security, confidentiality, behaviour and data protection
To take responsibility for understanding the part that one plays in the progress of the
School Improvement Plan and contributing to it accordingly.
To safeguard every pupil’s health, safety and well-being in line with school policies
To provide reports to parents, pupils, governors and the Senior Leadership Team with
regard to the progress within EYFS
To keep up to date with current trends and research as appropriate.
To improve the quality of teaching and learning across the EYFS.
To carry out work scrutiny to ensure high standards and continuity across the EYFS
To support, guide and advise staff in all aspects of their work
