HAVE YOU REVISED THEIR JOB DESCRIPTIONS FOR THE NEW REALITY?

I would say if you have not revised the job descriptions of your employees since the pandemic struck, then I'm announcing to you that you're working with obselete job descriptions. And this just doesn't cut it in 2021.

I'd want you to look back and see how much has changed since you prepared those job descrpitions for the staff when they joined your organisation. They now work online (and a lot of times far more than they ever bargained for). They've had to start using new tech tools on a daily basis. Working from home whenever the need arises is now a norm.

I recall that most schools moved school to online learning platforms in 2020, and even now, we have adopted blended learning and teaching as a part of our delivery. It has simply come to stay... for now.

And all we can do is keep adapting... and adapting... and adapting again

So, as an administrator, it is now time to have  a look at those job descriptions and simplify modify them to suit what each staff currently does. And of course, that also means the requirements for some jobs have changed. No school wants a teacher who is not tech savvy, or who cannot successfully deliver lessons online. Nor an administrator who is not able to pull it through with managing and supervising the staff when they work online.

I just thought to drop that here today.

If you need help with creating job descriptions for your employees, or revising the ones you have, then I'm just a call away.
